Swarnaprashan

What is Swarnaprashana?

Swarnaprashana (Suvarna Prashana) is a traditional Ayurvedic pediatric practice described in the Kashyapa Samhita. It involves the administration of a specially prepared formulation containing purified Swarna Bhasma (gold), ghee, honey, and selected Ayurvedic herbs under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic physician.

Benefits of Swarnaprashana

Supports healthy immune function.

Enhances memory, concentration, and learning ability.

Promotes healthy physical and mental growth.

Helps improve appetite and digestion.

May reduce the frequency of coughs, colds, and seasonal illnesses.

Supports overall vitality and well-being in growing children.

While Swarnaprashana is a traditional Ayurvedic practice, it should not be considered a replacement for routine childhood vaccinations or regular pediatric care.

Who Can Take It?

Children from birth up to 16 years of age may receive Swarnaprashana after assessment by a qualified Ayurvedic physician.

When Is It Given?

Swarnaprashana is commonly administered every month on the auspicious Pushya Nakshatra. Some Ayurvedic protocols may also recommend daily administration for a prescribed duration under medical supervision.
